About Tattoo Sleeves
A lot of people like tattoo sleeves because they can incorporate a lot of their favorite designs all at once. It makes it easier for people to enjoy their favorite tattoo designs and symbols. Instead of having to part with some awesome designs, simply add them to your tattoo sleeve.
Well a sleeve tattoo is how it sounds. Of course, you can have a material sleeve that goes over your arm. That too is a sleeve tattoo. But in this context, the sleeve is really the tattoo themselves. So a tattoo sleeve here is a collection of tattoo designs on one’s arm or arms. Some people get sleeve tattoo designs on their legs as well. So you can see that there is a lot to play with when deciding on your sleeve tattoo placement and designs. Some people get tattoo sleeves on one arm, both arms, and/or one or both of their legs.
Most people take quite some time in designing their tattoo sleeves. Tattoos are permanent, so you should always take the time to get the exact designs for your tattoos that you want.
Another thing to consider while deciding what sort of designs and where you want them exactly, is how much of your arm or leg you want them to cover. Do you want to cover a quarter of your arm, half of your arm, or your entire arm?
If you want the tattoos to just cover a quarter of your arm, they usually start at the top of the shoulder around your visible arm, then work their way down to somewhere above the elbow. I know a lot of people like this option because it leaves the rest of the arm bare for when you want to wear a short sleeve shirt to work to look more professional. You can get a quarter design on your leg too, where the tattoos are placed above the knee.
You can also get a half sleeve design where the tattoos are placed from the top of the shoulder to around the elbow area, coming below a typical t-shirt. Or it can be on the other half of your arm, from the elbow down to the wrist. People also like to get tattoo sleeves on their legs, from the knee down to the ankle, which takes up most of the calf.
And of course, there is the full tattoo sleeve, which covers from the top of the shoulder all the way down to the wrist usually covering most of the bicep, triceps, and around the forearm. You have the choice of having the tattoos cover half the circumference of your arm, or maybe have them wrap all the way around.
How long does it take to get a tattoo sleeve?
Well, this really varies from person to person. If you decide to get a quarter or half sleeve, then it will probably take a shorter time than getting a full tattoo sleeve. But it also depends on how intricate and involved your tattoo is. It’s plausible that you could have a very complicated quarter tattoo sleeve, so it would longer than a full, but simpler tattoo sleeve. Either way, it will probably take a few trips to the tattoo parlor. Those of you who already have one more fairly intricate tattoos knows the time it takes. But it’s worth it, especially if you have put a lot of time and effort into the design of your tattoo.
It also takes time to design, which also varies from person to person. Some people spend days, others weeks or even months to decide the final tattoo design. It’s not an over night process since it is permanent and you want to be absolute sure that you are going to be happy with your tattoo(s) for the rest of your life.
